Classes & Courses at Duafe House
Teaching because culture, spirit, and community are medicine.
The Classroom at Duafe House is a living place from the garden beds, the dining table, the altar spaces and the healing studio, Duafe where we practice the Ways of my Folks: the lineages of family, heritage, and land. We learn by listening deeply, making with our hands, and weaving what we learn back into daily life.
How I teach
Small circles. Consent-based, low-sensory. We cook, craft remedies, sing a little, pray a little, and journal a lot. We practice sacred listening, gentle ritual (offerings, breath, water, song), and body awareness, then leave with practical tools for healing, protection, and belonging.
Ways to Engage
1) Classes (short series)
Deepening the Circle: Spiritual Herbalism — four Saturdays each month (10am–1pm).
One plant Deva at a time: guided meditation, respectful harvest/ID, kitchen work, medicine-making (teas, tinctures, salves), ritual craft, dream prompts, and a plant-inspired brunch.
Seats: 6 • Sliding scale: $150–$300

Learning Lineage
My path is shaped by a formal apprenticeship at the Cultural Wellness Center (2003–2019; board 2009–2010); mentorship with Seḥmu Semerit Strachan in herbal, nutritional, and somatic healing (Body as Friend); guidance from African-Diasporic elders including Elder Atum Azzahir, Seba Ahmed, Iya Amoke Kubat, Babalawo Victor Guzman; and Elder Ivo Dominguez Jr.
My Germanic root-cultural practice comes through Völva Stav (training and service with völva Kari Tauring; Völva Stav Guild Konar).
Curanderismo studies with Maestra Kim Hart, Maestra Rita Navarate, and Maestro Laurencio Núñez.
I am not Indigenous; I’m an invited guest in an American Indigenous tradition and engage with humility and accountability.
