Each month we gather for four consecutive sessions devoted to one plant, meeting in my North Side garden for an intimate, hands-on study.
In September, we turn to Plantain, a grounded and steadfast healer who grows where others overlook. Together we will explore its botany, folklore, magic, and spirit, tracking how the plant’s medicine moves through our bodies, emotions, and memories.
Because this work invites vulnerability and deep listening, the circle remains small so each voice has space and each person has time to connect.
Build a living relationship with Plantain, learning to identify it in the wild, harvest with care, prepare it as food and medicine, and partner with its magical and spiritual gifts for protection, resilience, and insight.

A hybrid eight-week circle for remembering, healing, and spiritual practice
This is an eight-week offering that meets both in person at Duafe House and online via Zoom. We will focus on ancestor veneration as a tool for healing, reconnecting to culture, and building resistance to systems that erase identity and history.
This group is limited to 12 participants so we can share honestly and build trust.
Working with the ancestors helps restore memory, reculturalize, clarify identity, and support personal and collective strength. We will build practices that help root activism and spiritual growth in ancestral relationship.

Each in-person session begins with a Community Cook meal. We will share soup, salad, and fresh bread before class. Sharing food helps us settle and prepare for the work.
