Whole-Plant Evening Primrose Tincture-Making
Saturday, September 27 at 11:00 AM

Hello friends! You’re invited to come hang out and make whole plant evening primrose tincture with me in the late summer Duafe house Garden.

We’ll do a little group share on the benefits of evening primrose (feel free to do your own research and bring it to the conversation), and then we’ll dive into making the tincture together.

I’ll have pint mason jars, evening primrose, and vodka on hand, and you’re welcome to bring more supplies to support our collective. This is a no-cost, donation-based gathering, everyone is welcome. There will be a medicine altar with medicine give-away and swap space on it for those who want to share their abundance.

I’ll also set up a snack table with tea and a few things, and folks are invited to bring snacks to share. Let’s spend a few hours making medicine and enjoying each other’s company.

Reach me at donyelle.folkway.llc@gmail.com or text 612-298-7122 with any questions.

8-week course • Sundays • November 2 – December 21, 2025 In my home and online • Sliding scale: $306–$801 • Community Cook dinner included for in-person sessions

This course is the beginning of a journey into ancestor veneration as a path of healing, protection, and community strength. For many years I have walked with the Ancestors, listening, learning, and weaving their guidance into my life. It has been my anchor through grief and tumult and my compass toward joy and clarity. With this offering, I open the circle for you to begin or deepen your own practice, to find support, and to remember that you are never alone.

Over eight weeks, we will take time to learn the fundamentals of ancestor work. Together we will practice building boundaries that keep us safe and steady as we enter into relationship with our Beloved Dead. We will explore the many forms of altars, prayers, and offerings. We will pay attention to the ways our ancestors speak through dreams. We will step into guided journeywork using the Völva Stav method, and we will bring our hands and hearts into craft as we create tools to carry this practice into our everyday lives.

Each week opens a new doorway. In the first session, we gather for an opening ceremony, introductions, and the chance to begin our journals. The following weeks move through altar work, dreaming, prayers and petitions, journeying, and a special drop-in space for integration. We will craft an ancestral doll together, learning how making and shaping can become its own form of divination and shadow work. We will close the circle with storytelling, reflection, and a final ceremony to root the work in your life going forward.

The intentions for this course are simple and strong: you will gain a deeper understanding of how ancestor work can enrich your life, you will strengthen your connection to the Beloved Dead, you will learn how to set and hold boundaries in spiritual work, you will gather a toolbox of rituals and ceremonies, and you will be held in community with others walking a similar path. This series also prepares us for Level 2: Ancestor Work as Spiritual and Magical Resistance, where we will move deeper into ancestor work as a practice of collective liberation.

In-person classes are hosted at Baami’s Place and include a Community Cook meal of soup, salad, and bread. Online sessions are spacious, reflective, and connective, offering time to practice and learn together even at a distance.

Registration is now open. Payment can be made in full or in installments within the sliding scale. Space is limited to keep the circle intimate.

Ancestor Work as Spiritual Resistance: Level 2
with Sister Donyelle

Part of the Deepening the Circle Learning Series
For students who have completed Level 1

Course Dates: Mondays November, 3rd, 17th December, 1st, 15th, 29th January, 12th, 19th(optional flex date/check in), 26th February 2nd, 16th (flex date) Optional Zoom Check-Ins: 11/ 10 12/22 1/19 Sliding scale: $306–$801.

This 8-session course is for returning students ready to deepen their ancestor work. Together, we will strengthen spiritual practice, deepen communication with the ancestors, and apply these tools to real-world situations and collective healing. This offering centers consistency, discernment, and the ethical use of ancestral connection as a resource for justice and transformation.

We meet every other Monday evening from 6 PM to 9 PM, beginning November 3, 2025. This rhythm allows space for rest, integration, and continued altar work between sessions. Homework will be offered during off-weeks, and two optional Zoom check-ins will support reflection and guidance. A group text thread will be available for check-ins, questions, and support throughout the series.

This round, we will also explore the concept of Spiritual Reparations—asking what repair looks like across time and lineage. We’ll examine ancestral accountability and healing in the face of historical harm, and bring that inquiry into both personal and collective ritual.

Our time together will also include short films with discussion, guest speakers, and space for group ceremony. Dates for guest speakers will be shared once confirmed.

Course Dates:
November 3, November 17, December 1, December 15, December 29, January 12, February 2, and February 16 (flex/swing date)
Optional Zoom Check-Ins: November 10 and December 22
Additional Flex Date: January 19 (optional bonus or reschedule)

Pre-course offerings begin in September. These will include donation-based political and community healing homework, with two Zoom check-in dates to be announced. These sessions are open to Level 2 students.

Sliding scale tuition is $300 to $600. Payment plans are available, and students are welcome to begin early if they would like to space out payments. Class size is limited to 12 participants.

If you are ready to return to this work with steadiness, clarity, and purpose, you are welcome here. Reach out to register or with any questions.
